01# Colored Booties
The shoe envy is real with these flawless jade booties from Sézane. Having an ongoing obsession with this French label for over a year now, when I came across these boots in there new collection I could not help but list as our first shoe pick for Fall 2016. The beautiful silhouette is elegant twist on the ever-popular ankle boot, and the unexpected rich green hue is a fun way to update your wardrobe for autumn.
02# The Oxford Shoe
Every fashion maven should have a good pair of Oxfords especially this Fall. These cute classics are having a moment in the fashion spotlight and I love this patent leather version from Repetto. The Parisan design house drew inspiration from Ballet Flats to come up with a version of Oxfords that are effortlessly cool. One of our favorite styles is this Zizi Oxford in Hermine taupe.
03# Velvet Heels
One of our favorite runway trends for Fall 2016 were heels adorned with dreamy velvet fabric. I am obsessed with the Mavy velvet boots in Jimmy Choo Fall 2016 collection. They are currently online at Net-a-porter here. #Majorshoegoal for Fall 2016.
If you watched Britney Spears perform at the VMA's last week you may have been too stunned by her killer physique to notice that yellow one piece she wore to kick off her return to the MTV stage! #FitnessGoals I am definitely guilty because between Kanye's speech, the cast of Lemonade and the Drake / Rihanna love affair it was hard to focus on much else! That's until today when I was re-watching moments from the show and noticing the insanely cool, bold, sporty, beautiful, futuristic outfits choices celebs hit the floor with. Here are the unforgettable trends, vote on your favorite in the comments below!
Our Pick: #1
What we call an old-new look, the Center Part is one that holds true over time and yet still looks fresh and flawless with each coming season. Try the look with a simple dress like our Double Trouble Bodycon.
Our Pick: #2
RiRi vs. Queen Bey, the jury may still out on who reigned the 2016 VMA's but the trend report is clear. This autumn is about Futuristic Shapes and Sharp Angles like The BackBay Knitted Top.
Our Pick # 3
All the boys and girls were wearing it this year, and it looked incredible from Desiigner to Amber Rose in that gorgeous black Tom Ford Suit. Forgo a top and pair your favorite blazer with a lace bralette and cute jewelry. Try our Daisy Lace Bralette & our Shark Tooth Drop Earrings.
When it comes to each trend, did you love it or hate it?
Recently we stumbled upon a story about a non-profit that provided brightly designed hospital gowns for sick children. This incredible organization called Wards + Robes brings together popular Canadian designers that have teamed up to bring high fashion to children's hospital gowns in effort to cheer up kids during their illnesses and help them feel more normal during their difficult stay at the hospital. This video was so inspiring that I could not help but sharing it and promoting their cause!!

Happy early Thanksgiving! Let the holiday weekend begin! We have less than 24 hours until we get to feast with family and friends. Whether you’re celebrating with your family or having a Friends-giving, wow them with this delicious dessert.
I learned this recipe growing up in the south, where calories don’t count. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser! If anyone you are with is allergic to nuts, they can be removed from the recipe so everyone can enjoy. If you have any alterations, feel free to share them back!
½ Cup Unsalted Butter
1 ½ Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Butterscotch Chips
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 ounce)
Shredded Coconut for top layer
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place melted butter in a 13 x 9 inch pan. Swirl it around to cover the full dish, including the sides!
Layer! I usually start with the graham cracker crumbs, then chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and walnuts. Sprinkle coconut for the top layer.
Drizzle the Condensed Milk for the final layer. Use the full can and evenly pour!
Bake until the edges are golden brown and everything is melted together. About 25-30 minutes.
Let cool before cutting and serving. You can cut into tiny squares or eat it straight out of the pan!
This dish makes an excellent dessert for your Thanksgiving table. As well as, a wonderful holiday present for your closet friends. Bon Appetite!
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I started to reflect and ask myself what I’m thankful for. Besides the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie I’m about to inhale next week! This year, I have decided that I want to give back to my community and volunteer my time around the neighborhood. Sound interested? I’ve included some ways to give back to your community.
Soup Kitchen: Many soup kitchens rely strictly on volunteers to help pass out food, especially on busy days like Thanksgiving! If your family usually has Thanksgiving dinner, schedule some time at your local Soup Kitchen in the afternoon to distribute Thanksgiving meals to low-income families. Check Volunteer Match websites to find a Soup Kitchen in your neighborhood.
Donating Meals in a bag: The other day, while I was at my nearby grocery store, I noticed they had “Thanksgiving Meals in a Bag”. For as little as $10, you can buy a bag filled with non-perishable treats, which they will then donate to nearby charities. I immediately bought a bag and was filled with complete happiness, knowing a can of beans would be making a family nearby happy.
Walking Dogs/Animal Shelters: Lets not forget the animals! Many local animal shelters need weekly dog walkers. After a quick training session, you’re able to walk as many dogs around the neighborhood as you would like. Nothing beats playing with animals and walking off that green bean casserole you had to have five servings of.
Boys and Girls Club: Ever wanted to be a Big Sister? Boys and Girls club offers a great volunteer program. Arts and crafts, sports, tutoring and leadership roles are all available. Sign up for Boys and Girls Club to inspire the youth around you!
Although stuffing and yams are amazing on Thanksgiving, the holiday is more than stuffing your face. Throw on our Thankful Tank, find a volunteer gig and give back to your community and love ones! Hey, even if it’s just volunteering to do the dishes Thanksgiving Day, you’ll make Grandma proud and score major brownie points.
It wasn’t until recently that I became a huge fan of Fall, but now I am completely obsessed. Halloween, pumpkins, leaves falling, layering, and Thanksgiving? Please, don’t stop! Since the weather is finally cooling down in Los Angeles, we have decided to jump in the Fall Festivities and list our favorite activities.
Fall brings out the perfect weather. Not too hot, not too chilly. The best way we love to stay warm (or cool) during this season is to layer. Our Heavenly Mini Skirt looks great the Marina Knitted Top. Add a burgundy tank top underneath for a pop of color! Pair the look with some booties and knee high socks for a great day to night look.
Any outfit can instantly become fall appropriate with our Olive You Trench. This beautiful coat is lightweight and extremely comfortable. It will definitely keep you warm when the sun goes down but not too hot to wear during the day. The Olive color is a hot color for Fall 2015, that will go with anything in your closet.
If you’re anything like me, you’re stuck with a thousand options for a Halloween costume. Most on the market is generic and a little scandalous. My tip, create your own! I usually think of my favorite character, head to the craft store and get creative. On the night of Halloween, you’ll look great and feel completely original.
Dance the night away as a Salsa Dancer with the Black Floral Street Dress! Pair the flowy dress with platform heels and add a flower to your hair. The slits make this dress completely beautiful and perfect to pretend like your from Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.
Pair our Manhattan Top with a pair of pants or leather shorts to complete this easy snake costume.
Finally, if you want something simple and cute, we recommend adding a tail, ears and some face paint to our Moonlight Dress for the perfect cat costume. Meow!
Enjoy the Weather
Whether you’re on the East Coast or West Coast, it’s less humid and the temperature has dropped. Enjoy it! Sit in a park with a new book, take a hike, or just open your windows to your apartment. Breathe in the fresh air and watch the beautiful leaves fall. Cozy up with your pumpkin spice latte and relax. You deserve it!
What are some of your favorite fall traditions?
I admit, I rushed to Starbucks on September 4 to be reunited with the best fall drink around: Pumpkin Spice Latte. While I was sipping on my wonderful, warm drink, I began to think what other great pumpkin recipes are out there. To my surprise, pumpkin is everywhere in the baking world. Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, soup, even pumpkin mac & cheese fill Pinterest Pumpkin Recipe Board. I’m pretty sure I’ll be turning into a pumpkin this fall because I’m bound to try all of them!
My first pumpkin recipe I tried was Giada De Laurentiis, Pumpkin Raisin Cookies. They were absolutely delicious! I’m not the biggest fan of Raisins, so I substituted them for walnuts. For healthier options, try Coconut Oil or Almond Flour. Happy Baking!
Spiced Pumpkin-Raisin Cookies
1 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
3/4 cup raw sugar, plus additional for sprinkling
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup raisins
Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and allspice. Stir to blend well. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, pumpkin puree, oil, syrup and vanilla; whisk to blend. Using a flexible rubber spatula, gradually stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture. Stir in the raisins.
For each cookie, drop 1 generous tablespoon of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the mounds about 1 inch apart (or use a mini ice cream scoop). Using moistened fingertips, flatten each to a 2-inch-diameter round. Sprinkle each cookie with a bit more raw sugar.
Bake the cookies until brown and a bit firm to the touch, 17 to 20 minutes. Using a metal spatula, transfer the cookies to a rack and cool completely.

From Jackie O’ to Farrah Fawcett, the 70’s sure had some of the best fashion icons to date. Trends such as bell bottoms, oversized sunglasses, boho tops, and mini skirts paired with thigh high boots were all the rage. It seems as if we are traveling in time this fall and channeling our inner Twiggy for this seasons hottest trends.
Nothing says sexy like a great pair of bell bottom pants. The Maven girls have always been huge fans! This fall, our Elle Pants are the perfect shade of cobalt blue to brighten any outfit. Pair this killer look with a onesie or a flowy boho depending on your mood.
Our Kaylin boho dress is definitely a keeper this fall season. You can pair this scarlet red dress with knee high boots and an awesome fur vest for a head turning outfit. The 70’s was about being carefree, just like this dress! It’s a classic piece that is easy to “throw on and go”. Now we just need to find a present day Woodstock.
Although weather in SoCal is mostly sunny with a chance of clear skies, that doesn’t mean we can’t participate in stylish outwear. Among (faux) fur jackets, trench coats were a major look during the 70’s. Brigitte Bardot made them extremely popular! She would pair the classic outwear piece with short skirts and knee high boots. Oh, and the outfit definitely was not complete until she added a hat. To get a similar style to Ms. Bardot, check out our Olive You Trench, which is now available to shop.
